ABOUT US
In 2002 Bruce and I bought a farm in the town of Palermo to have more room for my horse. That fall we travelled overseas to Scotland to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed at Bruce's ancestral home, the Meldrum House in Old Meldrum. There were five Highland cows in a paddock and Bruce decided that we needed to raise these on our farm. We started out with four animals, 2 heifers, a steer and a bull in the spring of 2003. One seller warned us that these cows were addictive and that we would soon have many more. He was right, we now have 22! We raise Highlands for beef, showing, and breeding stock. We show at the local, state and regional level and have accumulated many awards and new friends along the way.
As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship we installed a 10k wind turbine which provides part of the power for our farm in the form of "green energy".
